UPDATE: WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The City Council authorized an application for a Community Development Block Grant at their regular city council meeting on March 11, 2024 for a water system improvement project in the city. The grant request will be for $1.5 million dollars and if awarded, would be used for the design phase, along with permitting, environmental reporting cultural resources and other mandated requirements for a project of this scope. The water system improvement project would secure additional water supply, improve our storage capacity, and improve water system reliability by constructing a new Middle Reservoir above SW 8th Avenue and drill new Well 10 near the South Reservoir along Hwy 11 at the south end of town.
